Bologna e Ravenna

Are you going to Bologna or Ravenna too?
would like to share some tips of places I liked very much:
Bologna, we had a wonderful lunch in Ristorante Gessetto, which is in
the middle between city centre (Piazza Maggiore) and university
district, in Via Oberdan.
The food was delicious (e.g. tortelloni
di pesce spada, filled with swordfish). The staff is very friendly and
the place looks cool.
I can tell similar good things about
Cantinetta Bentivoglio, where we had some very good dinner. It's a
wine bar with a very large selection of tasty italian reds and whites.
Plus the kitchen is very good, offering some specialties which you
don't get in every ristorante. E.g. we enjoyed Tortelli di zucca e
amaretto, the fill of pumpkin and amaretto makes a delicious
When we went to Ravenna, directly at
the main Piazza del Popolo, you can enjoy a wonderful time and food at
the ristorante Due Dame. Perfect ambiente, sitting in the sun, viewing
the pretty buildings of this piazza, with high quality lunch.
For the sea, you have to go to Marina di Ravenna. Some kilometres
outside the city of Ravenna, but e.g. bus 70 is going there directly
from the city main train station.
Arriving in Marina di Ravenna,
first, there is a big harbour, but walking around the harbour and all
the ships, we finally came to the beach and the sea.
There seems to
be only 1 opportunity for food and drinking something near the sea (as
now in october it wasn't main summer season): A cafe somehow hidden,
exactly where the harbour ends and the beach begins.
If you find
it, it's worth it - the view at the harbour and sea is pretty, the
staff is friendly, and the price is even low, e.g. 2,60 Euro for 2
